               ​We always knew that our dream wedding would be to hire a  villa in Italy and have our closest family and friends there with us  while we exchanged our vows in a garden. But we thought that's all it  was  - a dream. How could we possibly organize a wedding in Italy from  Ireland when neither of us even speak Italian? But after a few internet  searches we stumbled across the slow-dreams website - little did we  realize how lucky we were! Some of our friends thought we were crazy to  be organizing our wedding over the internet through people we had never  met in a place we had never been to - some would say it was blind faith!  - but we knew very quickly how fantastic and professional Slow dreams  were and they completely won our trust.
 Initially Bill looked after all our enquiries. He was so patient and  efficient and explained everything so clearly. One of our big concerns  at first was 'Can we afford this?' ( That was one of the best things  about Slow-dreams , you know exactly what you're getting and how much it  costs). But Bill made it easy for us to work within our budget. Big  thank you Bill!
 After we decided on the venue and dates, Janie looked after all the  details and planning. We were genuinely moved by how she shared in all  the excitement of the planning, from choosing flowers to planning the  ceremony itself. She was so utterly lovely and so helpful and efficient.  Our only regret is that we didn't get to meet her in person to thank  her!
 We stayed at the Villa Maratea for the week and got married in the  garden, just as we had dreamed of. The villa itself was fantastic. Big  enough for both our families, with a great swimming pool for our nieces  and nephews to splash around in, bar-b-ques in the evening and just a 5  minute stroll down to the village. Heaven.  Lucia came to meet us the  day after we arrived to see how we were doing and to give us a schedule  for the week. She was so friendly and helpful. Everything had been taken  care of, from trial hair and make-up sessions for Brenda to a meeting  with the photographers to discuss what we would like.
 The day before the wedding, we were down at our friends beautiful villa  by the sea swimming in a little cove on a private beach with about 20  of our closest friends, jumping off the rocks and swimming in the cave -  it was one of our favourite memories of the week. It was so nice to  feel so relaxed the day before our wedding.
 On the morning of our wedding day, Lucia took us down to the town hall  to sign the official paperwork, which was actually really lovely. The  town mayor presiding, Lucia translating and just us and our parents  there. It was a lovely start to the day. Afterwards we went back to the  villa where Lucia took charge of everything. She was AMAZING! All we had  to do was get ready!
 We got married in the gardens of the villa, just as we had dreamed of,  on a raised terrace under an arch of pink roses overlooking the town and  the sea below. It was beautiful.
 The caterers had arranged tables in the garden around the pool, with  fairy lights in the trees, and as the sun set it looked like a  fairytale, with the lights reflected in the water. It took our breaths  away! The food was served as a buffet with our guests helping  themselves, just as we had wanted. We cannot stress enough how gorgeous  the food was. The service was second to none, and all the while Lucia  was looking after everything. She was so non intrusive and professional  and lovely. Fantastic at her job! We hired a sound system and our guests  took turns to d.j and we danced til the early hours! So much fun, we  just didn't want it to end!
 We want to mention our photographers also. Sylvia and her partner, who  did a brilliant job with the photographs. We were so happy with the  results and the town of Maratea is such a beautiful backdrop for them.  The difficult part was trying to pick which ones to keep!
 We also want to mention Dora, who was amazing, and drove us round in  her taxi van all week. She was literally at our beck and call, day and  night. Also the restaurant (the name escapes us) down in the town. It is  on the second floor with an open terrace overlooking the fountain in  the main square. They took such good care of us (all 50 of us!),  especially Gwendolyne, our waitress.
 We were really happy with the flowers also.
 In fact everything from the moment we arrived in Maratea was magic. Our  wedding was everything we could have dreamed of and more, and our  friends and family had such a fantastic holiday that I am sure we will  still be talking about it in years to come. None of this would have been  possible without Slow-dreams - Lucia, Janie and Bill. Thank you so much  for everything! We would have no hesitation in recommending them to any  couple thinking of getting married in Italy - you won't find anyone  more caring, professional and friendly.

               Slow dreams - make dreams happen! From the first contact we made with Slow Dreams we have had the most  wonderful experience. We flew out to Italy to meet Lucia who took us to  the wedding venue, the yacht hired for the day and to meet those  involved. Jane and Lucia kept in touch with us on a regular basis until  the actual wedding, From the minute we arrived for the wedding in July we were looked after.  Lucia made sure the day went without a hitch and was everything we  hoped and dreamed of. We had to rearrange the wedding 3 times due to  covid restrictions and Lucia was wonderful sorting everything again and  again!                Three weeks on we are still receiving comments about how  beautiful the location in Sapri was for our ceremony, and how relaxed  we were on the weeks leading up to our big day.   We honestly couldn’t have done this without the help and support of Slow  Dreams;  Everything was so simple, the documentation process which  others had warned me would be challenging was easy to do with their  guidance, and all the way through we felt confident in the progress of  everything with good communication from Janie and Lucia all the way  through.  We made a change to the date about six months after booking,  which was dealt with quickly and simply with no fuss.  We chose to get married at lovers walk because not only was it a  beautiful location but also was dog friendly and accessible for people,  without being a touristy location.  Even though we ended up with a lot  more people attending then we thought it wasn’t a problem, and Lucia  simply moved the location to a bigger space to accommodate, this turned  out to be better for us as there was seating and a little shade.  We didn’t use any of the ‘extras’ offered (hotels, photographers etc)  but what was nice was that there was no pressure to do this.   Overall we had a brilliant day, and would recommend Slow Dreams based on  our experience – from our perspective not a single thing went wrong  which is amazing and we got some brilliant photos sent by Lucia  which  was a nice surprise (along with posing for a photo with a local arts  group!)  Thank you so much to everyone at Slow Dreams for helping us have the  perfect wedding.                  Mia & Michael  
 

               Dear Lucia, Janie, and Bill,  Greetings from Freetown! We hope you are all doing well. As we recently  celebrated our one year anniversary, we wanted to share with you our  review and testimonial of Slow Dreams. We had an amazing wedding and  want to thank you again for all your work in putting together an  unforgettable experience. I (Christiana) am from Sierra Leone  and I (Matthew) am a dual citizen of the United States and Italy.  Slow  Dreams went beyond our expectations and brought our multicultural dream  wedding to life!  We celebrated a symbolic exchange of vows in Maratea  at Hotel Santavenere on October 12, 2019.  Eight-five guests flew from  North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East to join us for  an unforgettable three days on the southern coast of Italy.   From our first contact with Slow Dreams, we have found the company to be  responsive, considerate, thoughtful, and helpful.  We were provided  brochures and given enough time to select a venue that was perfect for  us. We had anticipated that planning a wedding in Italy all the way from  Philadelphia would be stressful, time consuming, and complicated.  But  Slow Dreams made the process seamless and guided us through each payment  and each decision about catering, decorations and music. Lucia, Janie,  and Bill were always available to answer our questions via email, phone,  Skype, and WhatsApp.  They were timely, honest, and flexible throughout  our time planning the wedding, and everything we were promised was  delivered with quality.  We want to, especially, thank our wedding planner Lucia Pierce who has  become a dear friend to us.  Leading up to the event, she provided us  all the information we needed and consistently followed up to ensure we  were on top of things.  On the day of the event itself, she ensured the  wedding went without any hiccups or issues.  If there were any, she  handles them with calm and professionalism.  She is amazing at her job,  and it is clear she genuinely loves what she does and is great at it.    Thank you to everyone who made our special day unforgettable.                Where to begin - like most girls growing up, I’d always  dreamt of a fairytale wedding; an intimate wedding inside of a quaint  church atop a grassy hill followed by an unforgettable reception inside  of a castle. Slow Dreams turned our dreams into a reality by creating a  Tuscan, fairytale wedding for me and my husband! Being from the U.S.A.  (Miami, FL), my husband and I thought planning our dream wedding would  be a difficult feat to accomplish. Luckily, Slow Dreams provided us with  the perfect team to get the job done! We got married at Santo Stefano a  Campoli Catholic Church, and held our wedding reception at Castello  Palagio which turned out to be a 3 minute drive (8-10 minute walk) away!  We worked very closely with Lucia who oversaw everything - from the  finest of details to the grand scheme, and Danielle who was our  wonderful “day-of” wedding coordinator.   Lucia was SO organized, personable, helpful and easy to work with from  day 1! She allowed us to voice our likes and dislikes, provided useful  suggestions and just blessed us with her expertise! If ever a question  or concern arose, she responded to us as promptly as possible and eased  any pre-wedding nervousness we had. She oversaw every single detail -  from coordinating our paperworks with the church in Tuscany and our  church here in Miami to the fine details in our flower arrangements,  centerpieces, cutlery, music, lighting etc. - ALL VIA E-MAIL and without  a single detail falling through the cracks! It’s evident that Lucia  loves and is truly passionate about what she does, and she is absolutely  wonderful at it! Her hard work and dedication is reflected in her work,  and you can tell she sincerely cares about her clients. Unfortunately,  she was unable to attend our wedding, but made an effort to call and  greet us with her warmth and well-wishes! She was there from start to  finish, and to this day we consider her a dear friend of ours.   Wedding days can be chaotic but our “day-of” coordinator, Danielle, was  truly a delight to work with. A year before the wedding, Danielle met us  in Tuscany to walk us through the church and the castle! The day before  the wedding, she ran every detail by us, prepared us for what to  expect, gave us some peace of mind and eased any pre-wedding jitters we  had. Her presence was very positive and calming throughout, and it truly  set the tone for our wedding day. Danielle is a visionary and brought  our ideas and wedding plans to life! On the day of our wedding, she  seemed to have a solution to any unexpected issue that arose. We trusted  Danielle to troubleshoot, coordinate, oversee etc. and she exceeded our  expectations! She was very warm and respectful, and our wedding guests  spoke very highly of her kindness and professionalism. Danielle and  Lucia were totally in sync with just about everything and we are forever  grateful for them both and for Slow Dreams!                  Isabella & Elton  
 

               We had our wedding in Maratea in February before the  Covid-19 pandemic really swept over the whole world. We were very lucky  to have got to enjoy this time and it may not have happened when it did  if it were not for Slow Dreams. We wanted a simple wedding with few  guests and not a whole lot of time to plan anything. As my husband is  from Lebanon, outside of the EU, we were anxious that there may be more  difficulty in getting papers ready in time. Slow dreams really made this  no issue. Any question we had or advice we needed was answered promptly  and in a helpful way, giving us the information we needed to move  things along. They made us feel at ease with every step. Everything was  handled smoothly and we felt that there was so much emphasis on trying  to make this time all about us with no stress whatsoever - and that is  exactly how it was. The day went exactly as we had planned and we could  not have been more happy with the experience and in choosing Slow dreams  to be our partner in this.                Dear Lucia, Jane and Bill,  We would like to say a gigantic thank you for helping us, encouraging us  and tolerating us as we put together a truly amazing wedding  experience.   We drove to Maratea from Naples with our father/father-in-law and step  mother/mother-in-law. On the way down they were quizzing us about how we  found your company, whether we had been to the venue, met with the  planner.....basically lots of questions which all had answers that made  them nervous! We admit, the conversation did provide us with some last  minute jitters too, but when we woke up and saw the glory that is Villa  de Meraviglie all hesitations evaporated. On meeting Lucia, we were 110%  sure we had made the best decision! Lucia - entirely unflappable, an  incredible calming influence and such a pleasure to spend time with you,  thank you so much.  And in terms of Meraviglie - What a venue! What a hotel!  What  incredible food! The staff! The service! The setting! What weather!  (okay you may not have had complete control over this but it was  glorious).We are entirely devoid of superlatives to explain how happy we  are at such a fabulous few days.  Bill we do have issue with your  review of the breakfast; it was delicious!   Talking of reviews, "best wedding ever" is something we've heard from  multiple friends, but I think we'll leave the key review to our 4 yo  niece and 6 yo nephew who said "best holiday ever, we stayed up late,  something about a floating unicorn and we got lego" admittedly not much  in there you can use as a wedding review, but rest assured they are  delighted.  We would be more than happy to offer testimonials or reviews if this  would be of use to you.  We've posted a load of pics on the wedding website which I think you'll  be able to access.  The one of dancing with Gi is still up there in my  top 5 pictures from the weekend. We cannot wait to see Giovanni's  official pictures!  It was very hard to leave after such a magical weekend, but we're so  confident we'll be back (hopefully next year) there weren't too many  tears!                 "We had the most perfect wedding in Maratea at  Santavenere in September  and it was all thanks to Slow Dreams. I was so  impressed with this company from the very beginning. It was great how  clear they were about the budget and the prices. Everything was so  straightforward and organized. My husband and I are both physicians, so a  low stress planning process was very important to us. The planning was  SO easy. When I had a question or thought of something, I would always  get a response immediately. Santavenere was the most romantic and  beautiful location. I had only seen pictures before arriving for the  wedding and it was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The food  and the cake were amazing.                Unforgettable, stunning, excellent are just a few, first  words that come to mind when thinking about our wedding.  Mark and I got married at Villa delle Meraviglie in July; it was just  magnificent. From the moment we walked into the grounds, we knew it was  the place for us to hold our wedding. Enchanting, secluded and with a  stunning sea view. The hotel staff were wonderful and very friendly  which made the whole experience even more perfect. We feel blessed to  have found this hidden Gem.  How did we find the place?  We knew we wanted a destination wedding and Italy was our first choice.  We were leaning towards Tuscany; however we both love the sea so I  started to do some extensive internet searches. I found a place called,  Maratea that sounded perfect;  known as "the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian’.  I had already planned viewings in Amalfi, Ravello, and Sorrento so  reached out to Slow dreams to assist with a few viewings in Maratea. We  met with Lucia Pepice who was very welcoming and had a great knowledge  of the area. We visited 4x different villas and instantly fell in love  with Meraviglie. I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of the villa I shed a  few tears. The photos do not portray the beauty or peaceful aura the  hotel has.  We would like to shout from the roof tops that Lucia was such a  wonderful planner. She literally leant over backwards to make sure we  got what we wanted. From help with taxis, to restaurant bookings,  nothing was too much. We are very grateful for everything. Over the  months we discussed our vision from food menus to decorations of the  wedding ceremony but also in addition the few days prior to the wedding.  We actually had a secret ceremony with our immediate family on the  Thursday at the Cristo. The views are breath-taking as you are so high  up. The Mayor married us with Lucia there to translate, take a few  pictures for us and make sure everything went to plan. We had a small  Prosecco lunch to toast our official ceremony and then headed back to  the villa. That evening we held welcome drinks in a plush bar  overlooking the port; Yumara with all of our guests.  The next day, to ensure our guests got to know each other a little bit  better, we wanted to have a boat party, (DJ, drinks, food and swimming).  Lucia researched for us and managed to find everything we asked for. It  was just brilliant, everyone had such a wonderful time.  Sunday was our wedding and it was everything we could have hoped for.  When I arrived at the villa I was just blown away by the beauty of the  villa. It looked exactly as I wanted. Cute candles, wooden heart, rose  petals everywhere. It was like a dream  … cannot even begin to thank  Lucia and the staff at Meraviglie. The owner, Paulo was also fantastic.  When we came for our food trial she bent over and beyond to create the  images I had sent to her on Pinterest. The wedding cake was also just  delicious. The end of the night saw most of the guests in the swimming  pool – ha! So fun!  Also, I want to note that everything was taken care of by slow dreams,  even the guest accommodation. Was such a stress-free process with the  lovely, Janie on hand as first point of contact for guests booking. We  hired out the whole of villa delle Meraviglie; however we needed a few  additional rooms in alternative hotels.  THANK YOU AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO MADE OUR WEDDING SO MAGICAL… we will  never forget our wedding and we will eternally be grateful for  everything Slow dreams and the staff at Meraviglie did for us.                Thank you for making our dream wedding come true! We  wanted to have a simple, small but memorable wedding. That was exactly  what we got. We had stress free wedding planning thanks to Janie and  Lucia. Janie was really helpful to our guests and answered all their  questions.  When arriving in Cirella and few days before our wedding we  felt like everything was under control, Lucia met us on site and had  everything planned out, with her we went through all aspects of the big  day so we could really be relaxed the days before the wedding. Apologies for the delay on the testimonial but it has been so busy since we returned from the beautiful Italy.
 

I found the slow dreams website online myself searching one evening - I  had heard no reviews and I had never even heard of Maratea before. I  looked through the different option / locations on the website and  straight away I loved the Hotel Villa de la Mearaviglie in Matatea! It  was just so beautiful!
 

Both myself and my husband ( more him ) had reservations about putting a  deposit down before we even saw the location but we had such a great  experience with Lucia and Janie from the start that we took the chance  and boy did it pay off!!
 

We went to visit in May and met Lucia who is literally the most gorgeous  warm person. She was so kind and attentive, showed us around listened  to our every need and even drove us around spending a full afternoon  with us! Maratea is so so beautiful, there are literally no words you  have to see it as the pictures do not do it justice!
 

The venue was beyond beautiful and the hotel staff were very accommodating and kind.
 

We had 65 guests and most of them stayed in the hotel villa de la  Meraviglie with us and some nearby! The wedding day was literally the  best day of our lives - Lucia was so caring and there every step of the  way. I don't think either of us felt that stressed at all which allowed  us to enjoy the day fully.
 

The second day we had a BBQ for everyone which went very well and  luckily the weather was perfect so we sat out the whole time over  looking the beautiful sea.
 

Every single guest commented on how perfect the wedding was and there were no bad comments!
 

My advice to any bride and groom is - a wedding is supposed to be the  best day of your life. This means you must relax and enjoy every minute.  We were able to do this with the help of Lucia and Janie and will be  forever grateful.
 

The photographer was lovely and we just got the pictures back and we love them!
 

Thanks again Lucia, Janie and everyone at slow dreams and at the hotel!  Our wedding weekend could not have been more special and we cannot wait  to come back to Maratea   Very soon :-)

Once the initial stages of the wedding were laid down, Bill and Janie  then handed us over to Lucia who looked after the finer details of our  wedding. Lucia after a couple of emails felt like a friend and we  genuinely felt like she cared about our wedding day. We met Lucia on the  day we landed and both myself and Adam knew we made the right decision  as Lucia was both friendly and professional, making us feel very  comfortable from the outset. The day before the wedding we met Lucia,  her attention to detail was second to none. The wedding day was more  than we could have ever wished for and it was all down to Lucia, her  organisational skills, her professionalism and her bubbly, fun  personality.
 

We stayed in the 5 star Santavenere hotel and our 12 guests stayed in  the Grand Hotel Pianata in Maratea. The area of Maratea was absolutely  stunning with plenty of places to eat, relax and soak up the atmosphere  around the town. We particularly loved the port where there is an array  of restaurants and seating areas to sit and enjoy the sunset. 
 

We strongly recommend anyone to book their wedding with Slow Dreams. It  was the best decision we made, we cannot thank you enough for all your  help in making our wedding day magical!

We got married in may at Santavenere we visited italy in feb and decided  that the Santavenere was so beautiful ,we nearly booked the whole hotel  with all our guests and other friends and family stayed at near by  hotels and the villa carolina

It had exceptional reviews written by their previous  clients and there was plenty of beautiful venues to choose from for  every budget. They also had all their service charges upfront and  online. Without any hesitation we contacted them for more details and  shortly after we booked our wedding for the following June at hotel La  Loggia in Tortora. From the first email we received from Slowdreams  owners Bill and Janie we knew we were dealing with a trustworthy and  professional company. Communication was outstanding throughout the  wedding planning process. Janie and our wedding planner Lucia answered  all of our questions and did their very best to help us out with  paperwork requirements and fully understood everything we wished for our  wedding. Lucia didn't disappoint us in slightest. The venue looked  exactly how we had requested it to. Flowers matched perfectly to mine  and my bridesmaids bouquets, the arch was just beautiful and the dinner  table, decorations & cake were exactly like the ones I had shared  with Lucia on Pinterest. She couldn't have done a better job! We'd like  to also mention that she is a very lovely friendly genuine lady who  really loves her job.

SLOWDREAMS REVIEW
 

Where do I even begin?! Let’s just say it’s been over 3 weeks and I’m  still reliving our special day over and over again in my head J
 

8 years ago I lived in Florence, Italy. I fell in love with the country  and returned to the States dreaming of getting married there.
 

When my husband proposed in Brisbane, Australia, I felt it only fitting  that we take our love of travel to the next level and attempt to make my  Italian wedding dream a reality. I knew I couldn’t do it alone, and  began researching various destination wedding planning companies online.
 

When I came across Slow Dreams I was blown away by the volume and depth  of the testimonials on their website and via TripAdvisor. Working with a  virtual planning team can be intimidating, and there are so many scam  artists out there today that I wanted to be sure I was dealing with a  legitimate and professional company. I read through a number of reviews  in detail and felt comfortable enough to reach out and kick things off  with Slow Dreams.
 

My husband and I had lofty ideas about our Italian wedding, and really  needed help narrowing down not only a region of Italy but the various  available venues. Bill, Janie, and Lucia were incredibly helpful (and  patient!) in aiding our decision and answering our questions. We ended  up choosing Villa Cheta in Maratea for its beauty, TripAdvisor reviews  (including its onsite restaurant), size, proximity to the ocean,  amenities, and affordability.
 

While Maratea was not an easy town to get to (we flew from Boston to  Dublin, Dublin to Rome, took a train from the Roman airport to the  center of Rome, a train to Sapri, then a shuttle bus to the hotel) it  was honestly worth the headache. I have never seen such an abundance of  unspoiled natural beauty, and the town itself is beyond charming.  English is not a super common language spoken there, and I would  recommend having someone in tow with at least a working knowledge of  Italian. I would note that my makeup artist and hair stylist teams did  not speak English, but for the day of your wedding you will likely have  Lucia at your side who speaks excellent Italian and English J
 

The team at Slow Dreams consistently went above and beyond our  expectations, both the day of our wedding and leading up to it. My  husband actually lost his suit en route to Maratea (it was left in the  overhead compartment of a connecting flight and never returned to us)  and Lucia called upon her daughter Alessandra, an additional employee of  Slow Dreams, to personally escort him to pick out a new wedding suit.  Lucia was incredibly organized and very calming leading up to and the  day of the wedding. She took charge of a number of situations that could  have been dramatic and stressful, and was always there to offer a  helping hand (or even a hug!) She set up my wedding decorations  beautifully, and always had creative and out-of-the-box ideas to improve  upon our original plans.
 

One of Lucia’s strongest suits is that she genuinely takes the time to  get to know you – your personality, style, preferences, and more – and  is able to out-deliver as a result. Her recommendations for  photographer, videographer, flowers, and even a reception dinner venue  fit my husband and I to a T. She is an expert at her craft, and is SUCH a  joy to work with.
 

Overall I can’t recommend Slow Dreams enough and consider them more than  a wedding planning company, but true friends. My husband and I spent  our honeymoon in Italy and actually met up with Alessandra and her  boyfriend for dinner, and are hoping to see them in the States in the  near future. With Slow Dreams, the relationship doesn’t end after the  wedding day passes. We wish the team all the best in the future and hope  to see Lucia and Alessandra soon!                Amanda & Kevin
